When electronics malfunction, one must replace the circuit board or replace the device. I have replaced many furnace circuit boards. Motion detectors only cost about $20. So, this video explains how to repair a detector by replacing it.

as a kid i always had an interest in non toy items (as a side effect of a disability i have).
I remember when I was 4 or 5 i had found a old motion detector that was removed from our houses old security system in a closet and I used to take it apart to see how it works.

later when I was 10 we moved houses and the new house had a alarm system that wasn't in use so I removed it to see if I could get it to work. later I installed it on my wall and got it set up.

when I was 12 or 13 i got a few broken sensors from my school that i learned how to fix the circuit board including one similar to the one you replaced.

after that in became a big hobby of mine to see what new things I can get to work with my system and try to learn more about these systems

you were basically downgrading the detector, the old one was much better because it was a dual tech, the new one is just a standard DIY P.I.R
