Amber, I'm going to go against the grain here and say if you're getting emotional in church, it's your psych not used to that type of environment. There's a scientific term to what places like churches (especially mega churches) do to make you feel warm and wholesome. As you probably didn't experience that a lot in life, you're reacting to the emotions. You definitely, definitely should invest in a real therapist, psychologist - something while you're there.

And, for all those people telling her to stay and church and she'll probably find Jesus- X doubt. Churches won't help her as they're not a form of psychology. Might give her a warm feeling or something but she has real issues that need to be addressed. Maybe she could make some friends there which would be good for community. But religion is not the answer to your prayers- especially EDs and childhood trauma.
