I love it when Steff sings, "I'm no longer a slave to fear, that was an old life..." That is precisely my testimony! I was more than just "anxious" or "cautious" or "fretful". I was in LITERAL bondage to fear! Severely depressed, couldn't leave the house, couldn't get out of bed and function in everyday life. I failed to complete my second year of Law School because of it and went from being a competent, intelligent, capable person into being a SLAVE to a spirit of bondage, heaviness, despair and utter hopelessness! THANK GOD for His Grace, His Mercy and His Love! By the power of the Holy Spirit, I have followed Bethel teachings, got a hold of your worship, joined a good Church, meditated on God's Word and can see my life being restored and myself being regenerated into the person God intended and created me to be! SO LONG, FAREWELL and I won't miss you Old Life of Slavery to Fear! I love Jonathan and Melissa Helser's part in writing and sharing this song! God Bless!

and anxiety is not only the residue left over from the trauma of alcoholic, drugged up parents, but it's also what has kept me from being a Christian used by God so much more than it turned out. This song speaks to me in a way I never saw before and yet is clear as the love of God. I give those fears to him this very moment, as I've failed on my own so miserably to defeat them. I'll play this song over and over in order to pave the path for the Spirit to do a miracle in my life. My deepest thanks for this song sung with emotion that brings me to tears.

I remember when I first came across this song. A few days later when I was in a room on my own, I could hear this noise in the background. When I actually listened to the noise, I worked out it was me singing out loud "I'm no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God." Over and over again.
