Release the DRIVER earlier to SQUARE the club face better (Remote Coaching Clip)

This is a clip from one of my recent remote coaching sessions. This student has changed his old pattern of outside in to a more inside out swing with his driver. That is great BUT a typical pattern as a result is starting to emerge. The hand path is moving too much away and at the ball on the downswing resulting in "handle drag". This is where the shaft gets pulled too far past the ball leaving the face very open and creating a potential steep angle of attack. We are currently working on getting him to release the club earlier to get his hands working around the body better while giving the club more time to "square up". As a result the angle of attack will now be more positive or up on the ball at impact.

Trying to hold off release ( late release ) stalled my improvement for years. Pete Cowen says “ everything you do in the downswing, do it sooner.”
Nickolas said “ apply the club head to the ball.”
Of course proper form applies. But trying to hold off releasing the cub is a recipe for frustration. Thanks for posting this important ingredient to a proper golf swing.

This is my enemy.. my hands are always leading as if I'm compressing an iron shot. The only way I've been able to correct it is by swinging 40-50% feels like speed. I'll practice this drill.
