the og comics dont even seem like parodies of superheroes instead just "x hero" combined with "x bad trait" not satirizing the hero or the comics themselves but just randomly adding something negative

I like the show's version. Soldier Boy in the show is basically Captain America if he was captured by the Russians instead of Bucky, and if Marvel is rebooting their films I can see Jensen Ackles as the new Cap. Comic Soldier Boy just feels like a bumbling fool, and his successor is just Bucky without Steve's guidance, all because Garth Ennis irrationally hates Cap.

dont know much about the comics, but if soldier boy 2 is a massive coward but still participates in hero work (i hear he tries to pump himself up by yelling state names), then thats actually pretty cool.
as they say, bravery isnt the lack of fear, but the will to overcome it

Soldier Boy and Stormfront pretty much got fused together and then certain details were kept for different characters.

In the comics, Stormfront was definitely Homelander's dad .. and i think home lander's mom was meant to be some junkie girl or one of the researchers that 'volunteered'
