Travis Pastrana' 860HP Subaru GL Wagon Gymkhana 2022 Car w/ Active Aero driven FLATOUT at Goodwood!

My first upload entirely dedicated to a machine of the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed is about Travis Pastrana's Subaru GL Wagon. This insane car has been built by Hoonigan Motorsport and Subaru Motorsports USA as the new weapon for the next Gymkhana video which will be unveiled later this year.

The car began its life as a 1983 Subaru GL Wagon, now named the “Family Huckster”, but as you can imagine not much of the original car remains. The original body panels have been tossed out in favour of bespoke carbon fibre pieces, while the car’s chassis has been upgraded to a lightweight tubular spaceframe. Under the hood a 4-cylinder boxer engine able to produce 862 hp, coupled to a 6-speed sequential gearbox and all-wheel drive.

Despite the retro look, one of the wagon’s standout features is its active aerodynamics: a big rear aero wing at the back that works alongside the hydraulic aero flaps on the front and rear fenders. On top, a functional carbon-fiber roof rack helps direct air into a NACA duct on the roof that feeds it to the rear-mounted radiator. On the inside, you’ll find and original GL Wagon’s 1983 radio and a 12-inch digital gauge cluster featuring graphics and look straight from a 1980’s sci-fi movie.

It was amazing to see Travis and his GL Wagon in action on Goodwood's hillclimb course as competitors of the official timed shootout. Travis managed to finish in 5th place with a time of 46''21!

Love that you didn't add music, especially with the close up shots. I found myself immersed within the murmur of the surrounding crowd, almost like like I was there checking out the car. weve loved this guy since he was 14 or 15 yrs old doing stunts on dirt bikes, and we never missed a x games when he was there, the best was when he pulled the double back flip that night was unreal and amazing.GO TRAVIS the most humble nicest guy you could ever meet.great sportsmanship

Having not read the whole title, I'm watching this with my three year old daughter and on the first braking when the aero pops up both of us are surprised and simultaneously say "Whoa!" to which she adds "I have never seen anything like that!"

This is probably one of the coolest active aero cars I have ever seen, probably because you wouldn't expect to see a car like this with active aero. When I saw it first I was shocked to see those fins and flaps coming up, but it just looks so good with it. I would love to see it utilize this while turning as well
