In 1990, seven young male dancers – 6 gay,1 straight – joined Madonna on her most controversial tour. On stage and in the iconic film TRUTH OR DARE, they showed the world how to express yourself. Now years later, they reveal the truth about life during and after the tour, when they were ambassadors to the world on behalf of the LGBTQ community during the height of the AIDS epidemic. STRIKE A POSE is a dramatic tale about overcoming shame and finding the courage to be who you are.

Nominated for a Teddy for Best Documentary Film at the Berlin International Film Festival, STRIKE A POSE also captured the Jury Prize for Best LGBTQ Film at the Key West Film Festival and was a Top 20 Audience Favorite at Hot Docs.

Beautiful documentary, so well done. This was such a gift to the dancers, and I am happy the stories were told by such talented filmmakers. I hope Madonna at least watched it; if she didn't, she missed a beautiful film, honoring the experiences of these fine people. If she still holds a grudge against the three who brought a lawsuit decades ago, that says a lot about her character (and it is not good). I hope she opens her heart to them all once again. Holding grudges only makes the grudge-holder a pathetic and angry person.

I am watching this right now. Oliver was just interviewed and his wife would not STFU and let us hear what Oliver had to say. I really wanted to hear him complete at least one sentence uninterrupted. Annoying! Overall the documentary is very informative and revealing. I watched Truth or Dare no less than 15 times so these faces are very familiar to me and I always wondered what happened to all of them.

In their own way, they were pioneers for being a Reality Star before it became part of the vernacular. They had what Andy Warhol said about how everyone's famous for 15 minutes. One minute they were the toast of the town, now they were considered to be has beens which was sad like Dancing Teen Idols. Sadly one is dead and two are HIV Positive, yet they soldier on.
