As a US citizen, I have no problem paying taxes, but I hate filling out the paperwork when the government already has all the information they need. The only reason I hate taxes is because the government makes you do your own calculations and charges harsh penalties for poor calculations.

buying tires there are additional fees
the surcharges on your cellphone, internet, cable bills.
hotel room taxes
airline ticket taxes
taxes on car registration
surcharges to governments on your utility bills (power, water, gas, etc)
some states require permits to work even at lower entry level jobs, or state/county/city/township license fees
