It is the worst political system known to humanity over all of its history. Islam's policies deteriorated the state of Arabia quite significantly. It brought unusual levels of violence and an unprecedented tyranny. Certainly, all of their occupied lands saw similar regression. Even the population of these areas saw a population decline. Islam hates personal freedoms and obsesses with individuals who even think for themselves. Islam is not a religion. You said marriage laws? If you mean polygamy, that is another destructive force that islam uses to destroy civilizations.

Robert, I was debating with one of your UK scholars about Islam a couple of years ago. My argument was destroyed when he said "Islam is not a religion, it's a political system." All of the sudden I realised why it should be opposed. If I'm willing to oppose communism/socialism but not Islamism because it's religious, that's detrimental for the pursuit of liberty

It's a Political ideology masquerading as just a religion.. It tells you what to do every minute of every day, how to dress, how to eat, how to pray, who to marry or divirce, how to perform your bodily functions including sexual relations, how to punish your wife/wives, how to treat your children.

Three stages in the call to Jihad, depending on the status of the Mohammedans in a society:
1: peace: Surah 109: 6 "To you be your religion and to me be my religion"
2: defensive Jihad: Surah 2 verses 190-193 "fight in the way of Allah in the way they fight with you ..."
3: offensive Jihad: Surah 9: verse 29 "Fight those who do not believe in Allah"
This last one abrogates the first two because this one came last according to Surah 2: verse 106 "Whatever communications we abrogate or cause to be forgotten, we bring one better than it or like it"
You can look at any country in the world and see how the message of Islam changes based on the strength of the Muslim community.
