Whenever I try auto tracing it takes 10 mins to do, comes up with (unironically) 40 error messages and it doesn't work. (Although it did work the one time).
I'm so sad because this was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks anyway.
EDIT: Never mind! I missed one step!! I dragged "the workarea" sliders down, just at the start and end of my layer. And it processed SO quickly and works perfectly. Thank you!!

Thank you bro, just a quick question, this was relatively easy to do but how on earth do you remember all these steps to create some of these effects in ae, I literally just have a word document and save the videos of effects and watch when I need them because some effects are ridiculously long to recreate, and to Mae matters worse after updates some controls aren't even there anymore from tutorials made about 3 to 4 years ago.
