The town of Karabash used to be at the heart of the Russian copper industry but fell on hard times after the end of Communism and concern over pollution.
But despite the hardship, people here still support the country's president Vladimir Putin and trust him to bring better times to the town.

I mean. Russian inflation is at ~2.2% right now. When Putin got president for the first time it was at 30%.

Show me a western politician who did similarly well

Imagine the hysteria if this is RT reporting on UK just before the elections.

I don't understand the western countries if Russia is poor so let it be poor, why are you so much worrying about Putin. I'm Turkish I lived in Moscow for 4 years during the sanctions and didn't feel anything. Every country has economical problems and poverty but there is no other country who stood up against all western countries except Russia and Putin. Btw I hate Russia but this is reality he is doing what's good for Russia and Russians

Seeing people typing something like "ok, but Putin is still such a wonderfull fellow" after watching this footage is even more disgusting.

So when is the BBC going to report on massive poverty in the US? Or not to mention...Great Britain? Btw. need any gas with the next polar front approaching? Do not ask Russia to help you out, like you did the last time.

Well USA also have 16 million people in extreme poverty. But the number of real poor are well above 50 million in USA

I haven't seen such a great work from BBC into loosing it's credibility. Keep up the work. You're doing a big favor to Putin. After the elections he'll be even more popular thnx to you.
