Props to the Game Boy hardware for having enough power & quality for Donkey Kong Country's type of engine to work on an 8-bit platform(er), despite it's low-quality graphics & soundfont! The Game Boy was *weak* but not *WEAK* :)

Donkey Kong land is the 1st game in the series, this game had barrels that you can pick up and some barrels that shoot you out like a cannon. There are also other features like that there are letters that you can collect to make words that are hidden around the map.. There are also vines that donkey Kong can swing from to get from side to side.

I absolutely HATED this game but still played it sometimes as a kid! I was terrible at this game and never got very far but thank you for the nostalgia

i had trouble getting past level 2 on world 2 water levels was my least favorite especially with those flapper type fish and that shell thing in the one level
