I sometimes sell the books featured on this channel! Here is the link to my shortboxed inventory:

Here is the Amazon link to KaptainMyke's books, which I used to learn how to clean and press comics:

Happy collecting!

Yes. CBCS has always been a stronger slab. CGC is more expensive because of name, not quality. That should change.

I switched to CBCS after they took the cap off high tier books. CGC’s greed is immeasurable. No book deserves that much to be graded. They can pound sand

Matt Nelson’s interview told me, CGC doesn’t care. Your interaction says they don’t care. You don’t fix bad service by lower your prices a few dollars, fix your bad service and easily tampered with slabs.

If people stop saying and accepting “CBCS slabs sell for less” the market would magically start to even out. It’s perpetuated and regurgitated so often it’s become a reality.

Yes. Switch to CBCS. CGC's reputation is crumbling. I only buy CBCS these days.

Stop sending books to cgc. CBCS has better slabs.

Make the switch. You'll be happier overall. Big influencers and dealers need to start the movement to induce CGC to make the necessary changes. They act like a monopoly and deserve all they are getting from the community.

Typical Insurance, they gladly take payments but as soon as they need to pay out they hide, or find loopholes to do anything but pay.

I believe the “shipping” damage statement is damage that occurs getting to them. They should take pictures of received books or at least the box. I had a similar issue in the past and I know I package them as if I was shipping the US constitution.

I would really love to see you submit books to cbcs and see how their grading matches yours and see what kind of experience you have. I’ve sent probably a dozen books to them and been more than satisfied with the experience. Love to see some videos from you on this

Ever since cgc was bought by Blackrock and Jay Z their quality and care has dropped. They also suffer from an insider book trading problem. You would be surprised how many times that the book you sent in was not the one you received back.

Go for it. I use CBCS for most of my stuff. I don't trade grading companies, I trade graded comics, and since they are the top two (dominant force in the market), I deal with what I figure is the more consistent company. I also don't deal with Newton rings. Plus, the new labels are great and the cases are more sturdy. This is my opinion...

I submitted 8 books to cgc recently, 4 have broken slabs or damaged books. CGC is a terrible company, I’m also switching to CBCS.

Jim, sorry you had this experience.
Your explanation in this video is perfect, and you have behaved like a complete gentleman.
Good luck.

That sucks, man. I’m sorry you had to deal with such incompetence. CGC just keeps shooting themselves in the foot. I hope this leads to a lot of people switching to CBCS as long as they can do better.

I went with CBCS and never looked back.

I submitted 20 perfect books to CGC with a 9.6 pre-screen. Only two of them were slabbed at 9.6 while the other 18 were returned with a corner crunch. It obviously happened at CGC, but they refused to admit this and blamed it on USPS. They dodged responsibility so they would not have to reimburse me for the full declared value. After much back and forth, they did offer free pressing and re-grading. I ended up with several 9.8s. But still a number of perfect books were damaged beyond what a pressing could repair. Today I will only use CGC for re-holdering old CGC slabs that I might buy and particularly compelling signature events. The lion's share of any future submissions will be going to CBCS. They didn't need to be perfect. They just needed to be honest. To squeeze the maximum short-term dollars out of me, they sacrificed all of that future business. Plus, I have yet to see a CBCS case with a Newton ring.

I'm not leaving CGC, but will start submitting to CBCS as well. I do believe CBCS is more strict on grading, which is great for buyers. It's possible that sellers would rather submit to CGC and hoping for a higher grade than they deserve. IMHO.

Stop slabbing. Been collecting for 40 years raw. Love to rebag and board and flip through my books.

Looking forward to your CBCS submission. I've thought about trying them myself.
