Wow! Footrest not closed all the way! There's no checklist for that! And ducking your head as you drive under a low overpass will not help to lower your rig!
Love this series!

Love that a foot-rest can put the brakes on a 2 to 3 hundred thousand dollar vehicle. Rvers/campers have to be the most patient and resourceful people on the planet. Great video guys. 🤔

Outstanding gang just remember, we never get lost we're just geographically embarrassed, and we never make mistakes we just have operational deficiencies. As many of them have said they still make mistakes, me and my wife have been rving about seven years now and we still make mistakes the key is to learn from those mistakes to prevent from making them again. Keep those great videos coming they are very informative. And as always to all out there who have served thank you.

Great Video as I think you should call this video RV where tuition is high and you never Everyday is a new class, every season is a new semester, every lesson is a new teacher but its more fun than anyone could imagine and the pay off is a lifetime of fun and Happy Camping to all the students out there :)

We are former military (he is...dessert storm. I grew up on a military base) and I have finally talked him into the rv life. You two are now my inspiration and I am (forcing) him to start watching your videos tonight. Hopefully we will have the pleasure of crossing paths some day! 😊

I love to watch you guys and always find your videos informative. We have a 26.5' Thor Vegas and pull a 2dr Jeep Sahara. My husband had to make a U-turn at a rv park and drove over a log that divides the spaces. It demolished the molding that's under the door area. These rvs sit low to the ground. He wasn't a happy camper. We've almost driven off before unplugging as well, but caught it. I think we need to make a checklist.

I love this video cause we all make " that was stupid" moments. My worst was not double checking how firm the ground was that was assigned. We sunk to the axles and had to be pulled out by a huge wrecker. I now tell the people ahead that our 45 footer is "Very Heavy". Not all campgrounds can handle heavy units.

Lara and I have each had one "major" mishap. Lara drove away from the house with the power cord still connected to the box. Lucky it pulled out and did not cause any damage (whew). I was not so lucky...I was at the dealership by myself, and I backed into one of those yellow steel safety posts, busting up the rear end cap (boo-hoo). Thank goodness for insurance; ~$3500 in damages.

We’ve owned a 18’ travel trailer for 10 years and have made a lot of mistakes with it. I’ve cut a turn to tight in a mountain RV Park and snapped off the ends of the black and grey water dump pipes, drive to fast towing through a construction zone in the Sierra Nevada mountains and hit the awning poles against a barrier pushing the pole mounts into the side of the RV, drove off without raising one leveling jack and bent it. Ten years of lessons I’ll put to use this year as we upgrade to a 25’ class C!

I've almost made the same mistake of drive forward while still plugged into the pedestal. Luckily my wife was there and started shouting. Disaster avoided. Great video!

Hello, well the challenges that you have over come I learned not to do in the military and as a big truck driver and a big bus operator. Some of those mistakes could get you fired, so you learn to be fully aware of what you are driving. Also was a driver teacher, that was very hard. When I drive my class C 32' foot long, I let the years of driving take over. Not to pat myself on the back, I managed to get a million accident free miles to my credit. My best advice is to do a triple walk around before you even start the engine, because you will have to pay for the accident of rushing away. Yes I've seen drivers drop a loaded 53' trl because they did'nt do a simple tug forward to make sure the pin was latched. As a new RV'er I will not park my rig in a truck stop where the drivers park, seen to many drivers that can't back or even pull forwards in leaving there spot and take out the front of the rig parked next to them. My challenge is getting to know all the RV places to stop at, thats why I take notes from you guys, watching the best places to stop at. I really enjoy that! Thanks you all for putting out your video's have learned a lot. God Bless and safe driving. :)

This is our 5th year with our toyhauler so there have been a few. I will share 2 with you. Our toyhauler is a 33ft TT. About a year after we got it I upgraded pickups. We were in a Walmart parking lot and I turned way to sharp to the left. On the left side of the front of the TT is a ladder that sticks out a bit. Turning that sharp the ladder crunched the side of the pickup box right about the taillight. Luckily minimal damage to the truck and no damage to the ladder. Our single biggest mistake happened a few months ago November 12th 2018. Veterans day. We had been deer hunting at Nebraska National Forest. That Monday we had been out all day, got a deer, that process takes awhile so it was late cold and dark when packing up to head home. Sherrie always takes care of inside stuff while I do outside stuff. Truck was hitched up ready to pull forward so I could drop the rear ramp and get the ATVs parked inside. I told Sherrie I was pulling forward a bit. No big deal. Last thing I did was put the steps up. Pulled forward, parked ATVs inside, we both tied them down, I exited through the back ramp so I could put it up. Sherrie exited out the side door, it was dark, steps were up, she stepped out not knowing there wasn't a step. She fell all the way out. Luckily there was about 6 inches of snow on the ground to cushion her fall a tiny bit. No broken bones but she was definitely sore and bruised for several days. That's one huge mistake that will never be made again. This spring we are going to change steps to the kind that fold up into the doorway, they are more sturdy and nothing like that can happen again.
Thanks for the great content.
Happy camping.

All good Phil. I’ve watched fleet vessels (names removed to protect commissions) 😀 pull out of port with lines still moored. Great video!

As a solo traveler, I am constantly afraid that I am going to miss something. I have the check list that Casita provided with my camper and I had it laminated so that I can check off all the necessary things. That being said, I am still somewhat of a newbie but this video makes me realize that I am not alone in making a mistake. My biggest mistake was forgetting to hook up the lights and check them. Thankfully that was just for a short 5 mile trip on country roads. After that, I have been very diligent about the lights. Thank you for bringing this series. It gives us newbies a lot of ideas of things to look out for.

Learning experiences to qualify for excerpts in your future novel you decide to write. Now, whether to call it a fiction or non-fiction, is the question! We have had our shares in the 6 years we were on the road. Can't wait for the next segment to begin!
