Ich spreche selten Deutsch, aber dieses Gespräch mit Katja von “Deutsch für Euch” war eine angenehme Gelegenheit, mein Deutsch zu benutzen.

I think it's a great testament to Steve's learning strategy that he can still function to a good degree in languages that he hasn't even been actively using or studying for years.

I am surprised I studied very little German in past and I literally dropped my German months ago but I still able to understand many things they said in German without subtitles I understood German accent and words very easily.

When you posted this video on Youtube, I didn't understand a fuck at that moment. Now, I'm listening, and comprehending every word with its dialogue. I just started up picking up on the German language. I can't really believe how much I succeeded on my German language learning goal.

There's a mistake most German learners make even though they are quite advanced. They stick to the sentence structure "subject - verb - object". But in many situations this is turned around (not only in qestions but mostly when using relative clauses). So then you use the structure "subject - object - verb" or "subject - verb - object" depending on the verb. This is something quite difficult for learners. Also Steve makes this mistake all the time.

Ich finde dieses Video großartig, und ich denke auch, dass es sehr wichtig ist, durch die Zielsprache etwas über die Kultur zu lernen. In meinem Fall lerne ich Deutsch, weil ich Sprachen mag. Grüße aus Kolumbien.

I find Steve's German easier to follow, because he speaks more slowly and says things more simply. I can understand Katja, too, but I find myself relying on the cc (in German). :-) I should watch this again without the cc. Vielen Dank!

Hallo Steve. Ich habe mich vor ein paar Jahren mit einem Niederländer auf einem Polyglott-Treffen in den Niederlanden .unterhalten. Er sprach akzentfrei und komplett fehlerfrei Deutsch. Die Franzosen haben das Gleiche gesagt. Sie dachten, er kommt aus Belgien Er sagt, er hat niemals in Deutschland gewohnt. Er war der beeindruckendste Polyglot, den ich je getroffen habe

I totally agree with what stevens said. You can be the best polyglot ever, have learn a language for 20 years.. native speakers will still hear a slight etwas (🤣) that will show them you are non-native.

Es freut mich immer wieder zu sehen, wie viele Menschen die deutsche Sprache lieben und eine Leidenschaft für die deutsche Sprache spüren. Wir Deutschen haben unsere Muttersprache über lange Zeit innerlich abgelehnt. Das liegt an der Last des Nationalsozialismus. Wir sollten, Deutschlernern mehr Möglichkeiten geben, unsere Sprache zu sprechen. Das sage ich vor allem auch in meiner Funktion als Deutschlehrer.

I like German, the way it sounds, but when I started learning it, I saw that it was very complicated, I'm still a beginner, so it discourages me a bit when I read Spiegel or algae maine caitung, which I can't translate spontaneously.
Katja, you say that there are many music groups that sing in German and you mentioned the most famous Rammstein but before that there were other groups that sang in German. One popular band in the late 70's and early eighties, was kraftwerk, they were the first to sing the song das the model, which Rammstein processed into a rock version, was also the 80's famous falco with his famous song rock me amadeus, Viennese blood, wiena calling, jenny.
