Every worldview needs to explain why the world is broken. Which worldview best accounts for evil and suffering? This video is a recent talk I gave in the Philippines at Christ Commission Fellowship. The question is, Why is there evil when there is also ultimate goodness?

I agree partially, we can't have evil with good. But you also can't have good without evil. The reason for this is you have to have a standard to measure that good and evil.

If good doesn't require evil, if we have free will in heaven, and heaven has no evil, why didn't god put us there to begin with?

I feel like you could say the same in reverse evil had to be beneath it in order for it to be considered better or good.

That is why Jesus seeks to graft us back to Himself, that we may live, and not perish.

Morality has always been a huge problem for religion. A religious person can be moral, but they have no way to explain, through faith, why any act is right or wrong. See how badly apologists fail on this. Or can any apologist manage it? All true morality is humanistic.

The issue about making "evil" and "good" things is far from settles among the experts on the subject (philosophers).

So take what Sean says with a grain of salt, he doesn't speak for a god.

You cant have good without evil because defining something by its rightness automatically implies the opposite is possible. Youd never hear a philosopher, even a devout one, say such illogical nonsense. Maybe several thousand years ago but no, youre wrong
