Armbar to Body Triangle Transition🔺

📝 Here’s a slick way to take your opponent’s back from the armbar position. Transitions like this are good to keep in mind if you struggle to break their clasp to finish the armbar OR if you are down on points in competition and need the back to score.

💡 Notice when I lift my right leg off my opponent’s head I use my key lock grip to LEAN BACK (not use strength) to pull him up which lifts his back off the mat and exposes it. This makes space for my right leg to swing around his head. From here, I bend my right leg and use my knee/quad behind his shoulder/lat to move his body upwards to a parallel position where his back meets my chest. Seatbelt locks in. Since my left leg was across the waist for an armbar it is already in position for the right leg to lock up the body triangle.
