I just don't understand why some mathematics professors do not use visual representation of what they are talking about. It is almost as if they enjoy seeing us struggle. They should learn from you. Specially my Topology professor. He sucks and so does the text book that we are using for this class, Foundations of Topology by C. Wayne Patty. All gibberish, no visual representation.

Thank you again for being

This is one of the most concise math videos I have ever seen on YouTube. Phenomenal work!

This video is over a decade old and it's production values are just as good as any new video on YT. But more importantly, the explanation and illustrations are conceptually accessible and clear. This is the Gold Standard of math explanatory videos. Well done!! Also, I'm curious to know what you were using back then to make this videos.

Finally a clear explanation on with the example. This is such a great approach - to go from the example to theory. There are tones of theoretical material and nothing on how to approach a real example and the real example is the only thing, which builds that bridge with theory. I don't get why others under-utilize this. Thanks Rob for making it clear.

Your explanations are some of the most lucid ones I've ever come across. I only wish more professors would employ visual aids and clear explanations like you.

Very many thanks! Why didn't I have you as a prof all those years ago?! Still, better late than never. I look forward to working your other videos, too.You have a very happy customer, on a very rainy day. But for the rain, I wouldn't have been noodling around with cluster points!

Learnt more in the space of 10 minutes here than I have in 6 hours of Foundation II lectures. We could learn so much faster if maths wasn't taught using plain text just because it's "formal".

Recently in my Analysis II tutorial classes, I've noticed that some of the undergraduate students seem to be losing a bit of motivation.  Here are some observations which have led me to form this impression:

- Some Analysis II students have been heard commenting that studying Analysis II "is worse than death".
- A popular subject for Analysis II students to discuss during tutorial classes is how many weeks of the semester are remaining before they will never have to study Analysis II again.

When I noticed that the students' enthusiasm levels seemed to be waning, this suggested to me only one possible course of action.  It's time for me to once again attempt to illustrate topics in analysis through the medium of Youtube videos.

My latest video is on *Cluster Points*, which is really a precursor to the important topic of limits of functions.  Through the use of some simple examples and diagrams, this video explains what it means for a real number to be a cluster point of a subset of R.

Thank you from the states. This was nicely done and well-explained. I've been getting confused between being open and closed, and then what we call accumulation points and the closure of a set. This started to help clarify this for me. I will look for more of your videos. I'm only in Analysis I :(
