Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

Charlotte's reaction to these reinforces why I do not have tiktok. Folks seemed shocked I am not on tiktok, and I figure, "Charlotte gives me the lowdown on tiktok regularly, and I appreciate her hard work to bring us entertainment and save me hours from being on there." Charlotte reacting to tiktoks is all I need.

I agree, fat shaming in Asian country's are terrible. A couple months ago a well known idol put on I think 15-20 pounds for a movie role. She was previously underweight for her height, the weight she gained put her slightly above normal. But by the comments on the article, you'd think she put on 150 pounds overnight!

Had a colleague who was based in Seoul for a number of years. She was an American Medium in clothing, but her “girls” were a double D. She said clothing shop keepers would hold up crossed forearms and shake their heads “no” at her to indicate for her not to come in because nothing was going to fit her. One of her Korean workmates suggested reduction surgery if she really wanted to stop getting what basically amounted to fat shaming.

No lies told as far as the fat shaming in Asia goes! I wear a 6/8 in US women’s clothing and I’ve lived in Thailand for the past few years.

Sometimes I’ll walk into a store and they’ll legit say. “Oooooh Big

Yeah, Asia is pretty soul destroying towards dress sizes. I’m a uk raised Chinese and have always worn 6-8 to 8-10 dress size over here, which is basically XS-S. That’s considered slim! Then on a trip over there I was struggling to fit into sizes M-L. My shoulders were too broad apparently?
And my UK 5 sized feet struggled to find shoes to fit because they’re considered large and wide? Yeah, I always feel so mannish and frumpy shopping there…

So basically what’s considered plus sizes over there is likely going to fit regular sized humans from the rest of the planet…

I lost my mom on Sunday. I’ve been binge watching your videos to make me laugh and forget my sadness. Thank you Charlotte, you mean more to me than you know. ❤️ 😔

We had a huge ice storm where I live back when I was in my teens. I got trapped at a friend's house with a bunch of other folks. We started looking for food finally and all we could find in the whole house was a pack of saltines and a bottle of ketchup. Needless to say, I decided to fight the ice and drive the 1 hour to my own house because I had food and a bed. It took me 5 hours, but I had food and a bed.

I had an exchange student for a year and they do NOT check the homes for safety etc...the parents spend THOUSANDS to send their kids and it all goes in the pocket of the agency, that is all they care about. It is eye-opening and frightening. My exchange student from South Korea's parents paid $17K for their daughter. ALL went to EF, none locally. Anything she wanted to do locally with a group I paid extra for her. Luckily I am not a bad person, but my god some of the kids were not as lucky as well as some of the families not as fortunate with great kiddos like we were blessed with.

The plus sizing in a lot of Asian countries is also wayyy smaller than here. I had a friend who ordered an xxl dress from a Chinese site when I was in hs. It was wayyyy tooo small for her. She gave it to me and it fit me great. At the time I was a s/m depending on the store.

I made friends with the exchange student my junior year and one day I dropped her off at her host families home. It was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen in my life and I was raised in a hoarder house… After seeing that I’ve basically decided you really can’t trust those programs to make sure your child is safe and comfortable Sadly

I did an exchange two summers in a row with my host family in Trier Germany, and their house was beautiful. Only thing, my German is ok, but my host mom didn’t speak much English, but my host dad taught English at the school. I asked my host mom why she didn’t want to learn English from her husband. She said that he teaches it all day, she doesn’t like to bug him about it at home. She was so sweet, and taught me to cook a lot of German foods. I had two host brothers and a sister! I did a lot in the 3 months I was there. Both times! It was fantastic!

My dad worked all over world building power plants. The only place he never took my mom, who was heavy, was Taiwan and Japan. He never told her why. It was because they were very rude and in the face of fat people. My dad actually lost weight after going to Fukushima and, while changing into work uniform, heard Japanese engineers comments about him. They didn't know he spoke Japanese.

I must say that Charlotte is absolutely correct about the wieners and beans issue. I grew up having that very often, and still will have it occasionally at my age in my late 60s.

Pasta has always been my go to "poor meal". Perfectly fine with just about anything you can add to it, but also fine as is. And so many shapes available too, so not exactly the same dish each time!

Seeing the exchange student's house was an eye-opener. When I participated in an exchange program in Costa Rica, one of the girls had a similar situation and they moved her to another family in less than 24 hours. I am surprised the program organizers wouldn't do the same under those circumstances.

As an Italian, I lived on spaghetti with marinara sauce (homemade from canned tomatoes) for a week. Two cans of tomatoes, two packages of spaghetti and some herbs. Still love it 😀
