I was inspired to write this song because of the good works of Daniel Anthony and the Mana 'Ai ohana. They are teaching the community to feed themselves and their families by bringing back the hawaiian practice of pounding kalo to make Pa'i'ai and poi.

This man and people like him are the richest in the world and people don’t even realize it. This song made my heart melt. It truly was magical!

Why all the hate against a man who is singing a song of truth, peace, and love? If you are talking trash about this man's art, you need to check yourself. God bless you sir and thanks for the song.

Ya all, if we could holdfast. Be more than our "point of view". We might SEE each other. Its enough to care in a world that has lost it.

I love everything Paul stands for. Living in a world filled with hate, its refreshing to see someone celebrate the peace and happiness that could be!

Lyrics:

Mana `Ai, mahalo for the pa`i`ai
In a time where the culture could die
If you take away the water, our precious wai, wai

Oh Mana `Ai, mahalo for the pa`i`ai
In a time where the people could cry
Cause they are abusing the 'aina
`A`ole malama

So let's not be
A hunger with greed
Its time we plant the seed
And remember true Hawai`i
Kanaka Maoli
Don't let it die
Don't say we didn't try
To break out through the lies
And look in to the inside Akua guide I

Like `opelu in the sea
A school we must be
Planting kalo to feed our family
Singing a song to help each other along
Keiki O Ka `Aina
Stand Strong

Well we can talk about sustainability
But most of this land is leased to companies
Who could care less about the people
And the land they grow upon
Just becomes a chemical farm
They're doing harm
And what have these companies done for us anyway
Most of the food they grow just get sent away
To another place and they say it to our face
If we didn't have them, we'd starve in just a few days
But our way
We are here to make our stand today
And there's a lot of people out there that feel the same way
Don't let them trick you, they're out to deceive
But everyone is entitled to what they believe
So I'll be chanting

Mana `Ai, mahalo for the pa`i`ai
In a time where we look through the lies
Stare them in the eyes and told them that
This truth wears no disguise

Like `opelu in the sea
A school we must be
Planting kalo to feed our family
Singing a song to help each other along
Keiki O Ka `Aina
Stand Strong

Like `opelu in the sea

Ok guys I think we're missing the main point of this video/song. Instead of discussing hippie lifestyle, hippie appearance, hippie superficiality, etc., it would be nice to pay more attention to the message implicit in the lyrics.
Doesn't matter who you are, how you dress, what's you lifestyle or way of thinking. That's not gonna change the fact big corps are destroying and polluting the environment, specially in small regions where rural communities are more vulnerable -not to mention the bloody historical struggles stemming related to land appropriation unfair processes.
Look I live in the city, I follow a pretty average way of life here in London and I still do care for the planet, climate change, food and conservation issues, etc. There's only one thing I don't care about: labels.
We are all needed in this environmental struggle to save the planet. Everyone plays their role and the way we look like, speak, walk, dress, etc. is irrelevant. I think the message of this song is very strong and should be the main point of discussion that we all share.

heared this the first time in 2016 when my girlfriend was sick and sleeping. When she woke up, she felt better, so I showed her this song and we listen to Paul since then, its been 7 years! We have now a little daughter, and she´s gonna be a Paul´s fan, too. Thank you for the music. Greetings from Slovakia

Paul Izak’s unique style of music can best be described as a blend of Folk/Blues/Rock and Reggae. Born and raised on the island of Oahu, Paul has a deep rooted connection and love for the Hawaiian Islands and you can hear it in his music. His passion for gardening/farming and yoga are integrated into his musical message to inspire a healthy and conscious lifestyle.

After more than a decade this song is Still, just as good. I listen to this song every few months to remind myself that I am a Child of the Aina and I am not standing alone as an Ambassador of Aloha. Love-Light!

This is literally a song that encourages the evolution of human society. Imagine how far we could go as a species if we lived in a calm and safe world. We are poisoned daily with fear and heatred towards ourselves, our neighbors and the God of above. I thank this man to bring such a masterpiece to my ears and I thank you brothers and sisters for being the ones with which I hear it.
