I like that you gave all of the Japanese NCOs and other officers katanas. A lot of people didn't realize that even through WW2, Japanese leaders were required to own and carry swords as a symbol of their leadership.

He mentioned this is his first MOC, if so thats very impressive. Some design choices might have been a little sloppy but its great build, I love the detail and historical accuracy. That flamethrower scene portion is my favorite.

Tarawa was such a brutal and costly battle for the Marines, especially for such a small island. Many of the Higgins boats got stuck on the coral and under heavy fire Marines had to disembark and try to wade a far distance into shore and many drowned or were machine gunned in the process. The Amtracs had a bit more success and were able to ferry some of the stranded Marines to the beach.

The thing is that there are many people with such skills, but they can’t buy any pieces unlike this man.

How do you make the Lego tank so realistic

2:06 is that supposed to be a severed Japanese soldier’s head hanging from the tank? Marines were known to trophy hunt, heads included, and there is an infamous photo showing basically that.

Those are Japanese Army uniforms. It was the Japanese Marines who defended Tarawa. They wore a green uniform whose color was similar in color to the US Marine fatigues. Also the Japanese helmet and caps had an anchor on the front and not a star.

Shout out to all the Lego dudes who realize WWII didn't just happen in Europe. It seems like out of the half of the Americans that even know what WWII is, another half of those don't know anything about the Pacific front.
