Hello Doctor. My son's Tsh has shown a rollercoaster.
Newborn screening it was 14
On 15 days age it went to 9
On one month it went to 12
And one month 10 days age it went to 7
T3 and T4 has been in normal range throughout.

Our endocrinologist suggest to start medicine right away as he says after 6 weeks age we should not wait.We stay in Dubai.
Whereas our pediatric suggest us to wait and try another blood draw after 15days.
Our endo is saying it's crucial days and we can't wait more.
I am super confused.
Is there a 6 week window?

Sir one more confusion if the sample obtained on 4 th postnatal day is of venous origin not a capillary one then do we need to change the cutoff of 40mU/L

Sir these cut off values are serum equivalents or per unit of blood ?? AAP says all results of DBS are serum equivalents but Eupropean society states them per unit of blood. Please clear this confusion . Thanks

GD evening sir please help i delivered baby boy at 36 weeks birth weight is 2.5kg now he is 50 days old weight is 4.4 kg when he was 30 days old we went to doctor about yellow colour in his eyes so doctor r recommended TSH test that is 12.23 is there any problem with the value my thyroid during pregnancy is Normal thanks in advance

My son is three months old. He has congenital hypothyroidism. The TSH level was measured on the tenth day of his birth. 31 The treatment started immediately with a dose of 20 mcg daily. After a month, the tests were repeated and the TSH level was 0.65. The doctor adjusted the dose by taking the 20 mcg day after day. Is this correct? Does it affect his brain?

Sir my baby 3rd dad tsh 24 and 4th day 14 and 11th day 34 but in all test t4 is in Norma level suddenly the endocrinology start treatment on 12th day we don't take because of corona tell me sir this tyroid is temporary or permanent please reply sir
