As a diagnosed kid, I was once asked what it was like going to school with Asperger’s. I half-jokingly responded “I’ve never been to school without it, so how should I know?”

And the guy who diagnosed me thought I’d grow up without a sense of humor. Showed him!

I have it.
And hate it.
All my friends hate me whenever I try to be myself around them.
I sometimes don't say anything for a whole day and they wouldn't notice.

It got so bad that I got arrested by the police because of it and now I might go to jail for a long time.

I was a Truck driver and was sent out with random helpers. 1 guy I had with me was really smart told funny jokes and could do a rubiks cube. He told me he had autism spectrum disorder. I can tell you I did not mind having him come out as a helper.

I got diagnosed with a mild form of it, by one of the local psychologists where I live. It's interesting, wish I could learn more about it.

I was told that I was diagnosed with a mild version of it when I was very young (like, too young to remember), and it just hadn’t come up since. I used to wanna get checked out again to see if that could be the reason I’m as reserved and timid as I am, but then I saw how much it’d cost, and said “You know what? I’ve gotten this far with Schrödinger’s Aspergers, so why even open the box?” They probably just would’ve diagnosed me with depression, prescribed me some pills I didn’t need, and call it a day.

Edit: Just looking more at the symptoms, I’m pretty sure I was miss diagnosed. Guess it is what it is.

It affects girls and boys equally, girls are just diagnosed less

If we did a brain scan on someone diagnosed with Asberger's Syndrome, would we be able to see the malady? In other words, is it like a tumor or blood clot that can be physically identified? The answer is no. So if it's not a physically identifiable pathology, what exactly is it?

Antipsychotics are also used to help reduce anxiety as I am an Aspie and have a phobia.

I have just within the last month been diagnosed with ASD specifically what was once called Aspergers Syndrome because of my age I have a whole lot of catching up to do to better understand this.

Regarding my Autistic Spectrum Disorder, which I only discovered having at age 37, whenever doing wrong things in my life, I was neurologically developmentally delusional. I've also had Autistic Spectrum Disorder out of body experiences. That's no lie either. That doesn't mean I haven't and won't always take necessarily remorseful responsibility for these actions, though. Seriously, oh yeah.

so: independent, smart, successful careers, has hobbies (a lot of non-aspie people don't really have hobbies besides netflix), but have some troubles understanding & liking relationships like everybody but at different levels? not too bad lol

I got Aspies. I am not particularly smart to be honest. Maybe becouse I have the habit to belive most of the stuff others say. I get easily tricked and made a fool of myself in my school days. But being a young adult, have some buddies and a work place. Is probably the best time I have. And the biggest positive traits I got is that i'm not that much of a narcissist and genuinely honest to others.

Being a retired R.N., our classed covered it superficially, but that was 25 years ago. Without ever really dealing with it, it just didn't "stick" as a syndrome. It was something that was treated on an outpatient basis. Thanks for posting this most informative and concise video.
