How to Bulk Remove Author & Last Modified By from Word Documents

▶ About this video: This video tutorial shows you how to remove the Author and Last Saved By metadata from multiple Word documents at once.

In this method we only use Windows' Explorer to batch remove the metadata through the Properties dialog. The Author detail column can be enabled in Windows' Explorer to confirm the metadata has been removed. Note that Windows Explorer identifies the Last Modified By metadata as Last Saved By.

What if this method simply doesn't remove the authors from within Word > File > Info? I did this for multiple files, and files individually, and the Author + Last Saved By still appears in those fields.

Thanks, this one is better. You should remove your other video on the same thing because here you show you are moving from the "inspect" info page to the word doc; on the other you don't an it reads as if you need to have them both open at the same time, which you can't.

On another note, it is mindboggling ridiculous the hoops we are made to jump through to be able to do basic tasks in what should be tools that WE manipulate, not the other way round. I am surprised you don't have to go through these steps only on a Wednesday, eating a pumpkin pie while standingon your head in the rain.
