8. Secondary Action - 12 Principles of Animation

This is my video series highlighting each of the 12 Principles of Animation as described by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston in their book "The Illusion of Life".

What is so weird is that when some new artists started animating and draw secondary actions, they have NO idea what the 12 principles are and just show them as charactersshowing obvious signs of emotion, suspense, or empathy.

I guess the more you do art and animation with common sense, the more it applies to the rules new comers don't even know they're following or existed xD

This is a fantastic way of showing secondary action. I've been in the industry for years and this has just highlighted my laziness. I often simplify my animation to a degree that just shows primary action. I need to be less lazy! tut tut.

so secondary action is like a person doing something, but he does something els before he does it, when he does it, or after he does it. ok then! :D
