I walk my dog past Dale's Tribute in Kannapolis, NC each morning. His loss still brings a tear to my eye. Never Forgotten. Thanks Dale.

I kind of felt sorry for Kevin .
For the whole time he drove for Richard Childress he had to carry Dale with him .
Shoes to big for anyone to fill .

Happy definitely helped RCR move forward with their team, and proceeded to be one of the best thing for whoever he raced for

It’s was one of the biggest things that made me a Harvick fan right off the bat. He carried that burden of holding the torch for Dale amazingly well. That’s a lot of pressure for someone coming into the cup series for the first time and he succeeded under that pressure.

I never thought Kevin would be very good, I’m not sure why, but he’s turned out to be an exceptional driver! One of the best of the 2000’s and top 3 in the last 7 years. Huge shoes to fill for a young man, but he did a damn good job.

I remember when he won, it was his third race, he made the winning pass in turn 3, and won by .33 seconds.

It was odd to see a white #29 white GM Goodwrench Chevrolet. I will never forget.

When Kevin started racing for RCR everyone started talking about replacing Dale. Kevin never replaced Dale, he was his own man. A fabulous race car driver of his own right!! He is just as strong as Dale! His own driver!!

Finally, a story I can relate to a bit. I had just started working behind the scenes at my church about a month and a half before the Daytona 500 in 2001, so I needed to be at church that night. When I left the house, my feelings were the same as Harvick's here, it just didn't look THAT bad. I was a little more worried because there had been some things said about how serious it looked, but when I got to my church, our youth pastor was announcing that we'd lost Dale Earnhardt. And keep in mind, my church at the time was only about a five-minute drive from my house. So somehow, the confirmation came down in that five-minute span of time. I remember a lot about those hours vividly because of all that.

There will never be another driver like #3 ever in the history of Racing. Dale was the best of his time. Nobody has ever driven a racecar like #3 and Nobody ever will

no one can replace Dale and no one can be number 3

Not should the 3 be retired, but the 43 should be retired as well

I wonder how sad it was for the paint and body guys at RCR to strip down the remaining black #3's and repaint them just days after Dale passed

How does Kevin Harvick of all people not remember what he did the day Dale Earnhardt died? He was very vague about that day... Rightfully so though I guess it’s nobody’s business. I was barely 12 and I remember what I did that day just because it was such an impactful day. I didn’t even find out Dale died until later that night. Seems strange
