I’m British and absolutely NO ONE pronounces advertisement in the ‘British’ way.

After 3 months, I have noticed that I too use the british pronunciation of advertisement and just completely forgot. No idea how this happened

It seems to be completely random with me. This time I was just saying the British ones but in other videos I was saying only the American ones.

I’m from Canada, I’ve always pronounced the word: “advertisement” the British way, other words as well, the British way; but most of your other examples with the American pronunciation.
I also use many idioms in the British phraseology; must depend upon where one grows up more than anything else…

Oh, by the way, I was a little surprised that you didn’t include the example of a word frequently used in daily conversations: both pronunciations of: “aunt” 😆!
Cheers from Canada!

Chance and mask are actually usually said with an a sound instead of an ah sound in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. Only far southerners will use ah

Why does everyone assume British people speak posh. Have they never been to the UK?

Btw, the word «masqara» in Kazakh 🇰🇿 means «shame», «disgrace».
