Yes, The Hybrid And AWD 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Can Drift | Reveal

The 2024 Chevy Corvette E-Ray enters the fray as the first Vette ever to have all-wheel drive and a hybrid powertrain. The E-Ray's 160-hp front-mounted electric motor and 495-hp mid-mounted small-block V-8 combine for 655 horses. Along with the regular Stingray's heart, the hybrid Corvette has the Z06's wide hips and many other interesting technical bits. Carlos Lago explains more.

Sweet, I took my 1990 ZR-1 out this morning and there was about 20 Vettes I met on the road C8s, C7s, C6s, and C5s. Didn't see a C4 but it was cool seeing all of them cruising together, I even got a few waves! 👍👍🏁🏁

good thing that this doesn't have a huge battery, instead it's for performance and efficiency and not for tax credits. It'll add some weight, but it wont' be like a C63 suddenly gaining 400kg.

The "establishing shot size of what drifting looks like in real life intercut with the required cuts to how challenging steering will be to maintain a drift. As well, you compare launch mode adaptability for the conditions, superb. Oh yah and the car looks awesome.

Anxiously and eagerly awaiting the arrival of the forthcoming C8 Grand Sport.

Much like the Grand Sport of yesteryear, this model will merge the naturally-aspirated 6.2L LT2 V8 from the Stingray, with the wide body, beefier tires and brakes, and more robust suspension of the C8 Z06. Thanks to a different tune, though, the C8 Corvette Grand Sport will make slightly more power than the Stingray."_ [According to GM Authority website.]

Passing up all these opportunities to acquire a C8 Z51 has been a struggle to say the least. The Grand Sport will purportedly use the same LT2 motor as the Stingray. Albeit, making ~510hp and ~490tq from a naturally aspirated V8.

Both my wife and I are truly hopeful that this new Grand Sport will be the perfect C8 model to suit all our wants and desires.

*Side note - Is that the new 'Cacti' green color? It is a lot lighter than I had anticipated. More like a Seafoam Green if you must make a comparison. Green has always been a difficult color to portray on cars. Guess I will reserve my final judgment after I see this new Cacti green in-person under the intense Arizona sun. ~Take care my friends.

The crazy thing is, this is the first ever production AWD Corvette and the Vette is 70 years old, all Chevy (and GM) did was to make the Corvette a year sports car now, and to think there are even more powerful versions still to come, hats off to the Corvette Team and I can't wait to see what else they have planned
