Hi friends!

One of our FAVORITE parts of reading Reddit stories is sparking fun and light hearted conversation with y’all. We love the passion our community brings and while roasting us is encouraged, sometimes comments get taken too far. It seems we’ve forgotten what is okay in our little corner of the internet, so let’s review!

- Friendly reminder that this is a comedy channel, we are in no way qualified to seriously advise or analyze any of the stories we read. we love hanging out with you all every Saturday to discuss our thoughts, but please remember that we're not offering any advice.
- It’s 100% okay to not agree with our takes or even like our jokes. We encourage thoughtful discussion and valid feedback! What's not okay? To verbally attack any cast members or guests featured, just because your opinion doesn't match theirs. There's enough hate in the world, let's not bring it here.
- In our most "Principal's Office" voice: Attacking any of our guests or seeking out their personal socials with the intent of bullying is unacceptable and will result in a permanent block from our channels. Don't make us do that because it's not fun! 😠

Let’s remember to be kind, respectful and keep our Smosh space full of the joyful absurdity that we all love! That’s all folks, see you next upload!

the thing abt the second story is that it was so detailed that *a friend* realized it was about OP

"It's not identifiable" are we ignoring that OP found out about it because someone recognized the story as the OP's life?

Sanjigirl

they completely ignored and glossed over the fact that the story was identifiable to other people... OP was literally informed of the fact by a mutual friend

writing a smutty fanfic about your friend and her secrets is 1000% weird and disrespectful and how that's not understood actually baffles me.

Are we forgetting the book is smut?! It’s not like they just wrote about stuff in their life, they made a sexualised book about OPs relationship with their partner but made it abusive, that is so not okay.

As someone with an extremely traumatic past/family life, I would do ANYTHING to stop someone from profiting off of that. Anyone trying to do that isn't your friend.

My ex was a writer, and when we broke up he wrote a story about me, in detail about my father's death -- from the point of view of my father being on hospice. I have never been so angry in my life. So no, gross.

I’m not outraged at the whole episode…but holy shit I can’t believe they didnt edit out “it’s your responsibility if you trusted someone who you shouldn’t have” how could you say that

The take on the second story is absolutely insane to me. She not only wrote enough explicit details that another friend recognized it as her life, she wrote about her fiancé being a predator then wrote graphic sex scenes?! So she wrote fanfiction about her friend being abused? They acted like the OP was being crazy but that poor girl has been absolutely violated and I can't believe how calm she was being. I hope she ignored Reddit and talked to other friends in her life instead.

Everyone is talking about story 2, but I’m perplexed how story 5 (the leaving stains on the bed) anyone could think OP was the a-hole. Imagine someone letting you stay at their place for an evening (for free) and then basically going “Yeah we messed around in your bed, you’ll be cleaning that up.” That’s seems unhinged to me

“None of it is identifiable” but obviously it is because one of her friends found it.

After hearing Sabrina’s take for the second story, I really do NOT care to learn about any of her content. I can’t watch someone that literally blames the victim for sharing their story — that was told in confidence — to their friend!!

As someone who spends a lot of time in writing spaces online, that second story is WILD. Most writers are terrified of anyone thinking their books are based on anyone around them, and this "writer" came out and admitted it?? Absolutely not. Suing her and preventing the publication of this book might actually SAVE this writer's career, because this is exactly the kind of unethical BS the writing community hates.

you don’t realize how thoughtful and intelligent reddit readings are until they’re not lol

no better feeling of relief than feeling off, scrolling to the comments, and confirming everyone else feels weird about it

No idea why it was so hard for y'all to understand why people banging on your furniture after explicitly asking them NOT to is not only gross and disrespectful but kind of violating? Like, either DON'T DO IT or at least have the courtesy to clean up after yourselves, because leaving your bodily fluids behind for your friend to clean up after is just nasty. It really shows that they have no respect for their friend or their boundaries. I would never let those people stay over again, or be friends with them anymore.

The take on the second story is so LA-brained. It’s like “this is her chance to make it! It doesn’t matter if it upsets other people”, crazy

In the second story, when Shane's questioning why the users not giving hard details - I think he's failing to grasp quite how good at hunting down people reddit can be.
There's countless stories on reddit where a person gives 1 vague detail too many, and it turns out their cousin\partner\parent\etc, tracks them down, making their private life worse in the process. OP is just trying to stay anonymous to get as unbiased opinion as possible - they could likely be more specific but it sounds like the age gap or other details might be too unique and give it away.

As someone who was betrayed by a friend who wrote about intimate details of my anorexia that I told them in confidence, as well as mocked me in the same book, so obviously that people who knew me reached out to ask if I knew I was in this person's book. The author clearly forgot they mocked me/used my intimate stories -- they sent me a copy of said book so I saw it for myself -- it was devastating, humiliating and violating to feel so used by someone like that, so I cannot imagine how it would feel in a sexualised version/a whole book about my life and an inversion of my partner all for profit. It's sick, violating and exploitative. No, it's not artistic, and people profiting from other people like that shouldn't be protected in a bubble such as "because they're a mother". Having shitty circumstances does not excuse shitty exploitative behaviour
