Faculty Forum Online, Alumni Edition: Machine Learning Insights into Antibiotic Lethality

In this webinar from July 25, 2019, Jason Yang PD ’14 and Allison Lopatkin PD ’17, postdoctoral research scientists in the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science at MIT, will discuss a “white-box” machine-learning approach they developed to discover a mechanism that helps certain antibiotics kill bacteria. Exploiting this mechanism could help researchers to discover new drugs that could be used along with antibiotics to enhance their bacteria-killing ability, the researchers say.
