Well. 40:54 is my photo! Coming after Elia’s photo I nearly fell off my seat when my photo came up! Patrick nailed it with the old look to it, that was sort of intended as the location is a 17th Century landscaped ‘Capability Brown’ garden in an English Country House Estate. On the badly facing Canadian Geese, there was a third one in an odd place and also badly facing. He got removed. Decided to leave the other two in as otherwise little to the left foreground. Never submitted a photo for something like this before so thanks for the critique Lee and Patrick.

Fstoppers, very unsure as to why 34:54 isn't a 5. That's a breath taking shot.

The second shot (with the winter night shot at 5:51 ) is from northern Italy on Seiser Alm (the mountains in the middle of the frame are Langkofel and Plattkofel). Sunrise from this perspective would be on the left side of the frame / sunset light would come from the right behind side

Neat the 17:05 is my photo, I do have normal landscape photos too but thought that this one had the most interest to it. I really wonder what Patric would have voted if it was the fine art category, I don't feel I should send in the same photo to get that info ^^

I like critiques and yet at the same time they are maddening. It’s just so subjective and I think they are kind of tearing down some really incredible shots.

Just read the explanation of the star rating system. Problem with this scale is that hardly any photo falls in the 1, 4 or 5 star category, so most photos end up with either 2 or 3 stars. That gives hardly any room for differentiation.

That Stonehendge shot is FIRE! This photographer nail "taking a picture of a bunch of rocks that have been photographed a 1000 times"

37:12

Shoot it later? The balloons took off when they took off Patrick, jeez.

The picture of the lake with a person standing looks very fake and flat. Its like a cutout of 3 pictures from different magazines. The first layer is the trees and rocks with the person, second layer is the lake, and 3rd layer is the sky.

I really enjoyed the landscape critique. I learn a lot from these critiques. Keep up the good work!

34.54 I recognise this one. Patrick was correct. The Quarry, Kiama, NSW Australia. About 2 hours south of Sydney. An epic shot.

@Fstoppers 16:05 Trees weren't painted in, sun in setting over the mountain, casting a shadow on the valley. The light is reflecting off the clouds casting light onto the bright mountain side. Shot a lot in Yosimite last year, and learned about taking advantage of light that bounces from sunset off the clouds, makes total sense, and can easily be captured in one frame if the conditions are right..

Question: How do you guys feel about hour+ star trail shots? I've taken a few that my customers and I like a lot....

At 38:50: The chromatic aberration around the trees is difficult to get rid of. Ialso have trouble with that in back-lit photos.

the first photo reactions and conversation was the highlight of this critique haha. "man that might be the best shot of stone henge ive ever seen. Can you think of a better stone henge shot?"

The second image has my eye drawn to the moving cloud to the upper left, very distracting to the rest of the photo, I also think it’s over Photoshopped, just like

At 36:30 is famous Cappadocia, Turkey. For sure the photo was taken from the balloon. Regards

Always like hearing improvement suggestions, not just tearing down a picture. Without the suggestions, the series would just be a 2 for me at max, more like a 1 out of 5
