The 2025 Sugar Bowl saw a thrilling matchup between the reigning National Champion Georgia Bulldogs and the surging Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In a defensive struggle, the Irish emerged victorious, defeating the Bulldogs 23-10.

Georgia, known for their dominant defense, struggled to contain the dynamic Notre Dame offense. The Irish, led by their dual-threat quarterback, effectively moved the ball down the field, utilizing a balanced attack that kept the Georgia defense off balance. Notre Dame's defense, meanwhile, proved to be a formidable force, limiting Georgia's explosive offensive capabilities.

Key defensive stops and timely turnovers proved crucial for Notre Dame throughout the game. The Irish defense consistently pressured Georgia's quarterback, forcing errant throws and generating crucial turnovers.

The victory over Georgia was a significant statement for Notre Dame, showcasing their potential as a national contender. It also served as a humbling experience for the Bulldogs, reminding them that maintaining their dominance in college football would be an ongoing challenge.

This is why the playoff was needed 15 years ago - to expose the SEC

To the tune of “Santa Got Run Over by a Reindeer”:

Georgia Got Run Over by the Irish

Georgia got run over by the Irish
It happened in New Orleans New Years Eve.
You can say there’s no such thing as Pixies
But as for football fandom, we believe.

Stockton thought he’d run a pass play,
As Kirby Smart looked on in dred.
He dropped back to heave a long one,
And got sacked for minus-7 yards instead.

When the Irish reached the Red Zone,
The Dawgs tried a sneak attack.
Georgia blitzed the wily Q-B,
But, too late, he handed off to his halfback.

Then the Dawgs were down by two scores,
Riley Leonard was quite good.
Georgia’s D-line tried to stop him,
But in the end they found they never could.

Georgia got run over by the Irish
It happened in New Orleans New Years Eve.
You can say there’s no such thing as Pixies
But as for football fandom, we believe.

Now we’re all so proud of them ‘Dawgs,
They’ve been taking it so well.
See them watchin’ CFP’s next round,
Drinkin’ beer and thinking, “What the hell?”

It’s not New Years without football,
But U. Georgia’s dressed in black.
And we just can’t help but wonder:
Is the CFP a test they cannot hack?

Georgia got run over by the Irish
It happened in New Orleans New Years Eve.
You can say there’s no such thing as Pixies
But as for football fandom, we believe.

Texas schedule was a joke. And it was an SEC schedule.

The sec had a tough year. They think they are soooo better than everyone else. The play off’s has proven them wrong. Now we enter into a new period in sports. Will the big money skew the land scape or will a team that can maintain their players matter? Go Cougar!!!

The SEC has never been all that. They have built their reputation by playing 8 home games and 4 road games...., with two or three teams that beat up on nothing more than average football teams. They've built their BS reputation on the top of cowardly decades of scheduling. No one wants to talk about how Alabama didn't play 1 road game outside of the SEC for their most "dominant " decade run. That's not dominance, but it is coawardice. The SEC has never been all that. They play the same game as everyone else, but ESPN and their other propagandists pretend like the SEC lives on another planet. We are seeing what BS house of cards the mighty SEC is and has been forever.

When the sec plays 9 conference games like the Big 12, I might have a little respect for them. Until then, NO!

Texas' biggest victory this season is... Arizona State

Couldn’t agree with you more. Really glad you pointed out that the SEC will likely now miss 2 CFP championship games in a row. Unlike the Big 12, which has appeared in every CFP to date and has won it 6 times between 3 teams. Oh wait. Thats the SEC.

The SEC plays 4 out of conference body bag games then circle jerk how they only lose to each other. When they have to go up against teams with a pulse from other conferences they only have their excuses.

Sadly ESPN will never fold as long as they have access to that disney money.

That 4th NON-SCORING drive won the game for ND … they bullied Georgia’s defense down the field & devoured the clock.

I’ve been waiting for this rant! These SEC teams were lack luster this year. But “let’s pull all these teams into the SEC” When you stack the rankings early with SEC teams of course the “schedule” is going to be full of ranked teams

ASU didn’t have its #1 receiver and Cam was puking on the sideline and he still got over 200 yards combined yards against texas defense . ASU shut down texas running back duo . The SEC is a paper tiger

All of a sudden the national champ will have to win 4 playoff games which was considered impossible for decades.
