Darren is working like me in this vid; spending 10X as much time trying to fix what he broke than what was needed initially. I'm glad he left it in though, one of many reasons this is my favorite youtube channel.

The reason I watch you is because of this kind of thing you show what really happens in the garage.

Definitely worth another video Mustie1. This video and your previous show the pains and pleasure of vintage car ownership.

I had one identical to this. Bought it from a guy who "didn't know why it stopped running". Turned out it was out of gas. Paid $175 and used a chain to tow it home. Had a canopy on it which I did not keep. The rear end was light at that point, probably did not have the recall done? We dubbed it the "Bozo Mobile" due to the unique dynamics: it felt like you were sitting on the hood of a Ford Falcon as you bounded down the highway. The linkage would punish you by jamming if you hurried the 1-2 shift. I got good at quickly jumping under the thing to un jam it with a hammer, and modified my shifting to reduce the number of times I had to jump out while in traffic. The engine would heat soak after shut down, causing fuel in carb to push past the needle and seat and vaporize. Always smelled gassy in the cab. The previous owner had a unfused 10 gauge wire run through the engine doghouse in a hole without a grommet. When that thing grounded out the insulation on the wire vaporized as the wire went red hot. Fun times. Sold it for $500 back in the day.

Thanks for leaving in the part about the gas tank bulbing. I can SO relate to that in 1/2 the projects I work on.

Great follow up on the Econoline, been seeing it hanging out in the back ground for years. It had a smile on it's face today! I would love to see more episodes of this iconic bred of truck!

As someone who use to do pressure testing for fuel tanks 3 psi was our check pressure for leaks 5 psi would bow 3mm 1000 gallon tanks. But it is always trial and error. Why I love watching your content no faking

This little truck was made during my senior year in high school. There was a classmate who drove a new Corvette. I viewed that car every day with green eyes as I rode off on my bicycle. Thanks for all your hard work, I love looking at this orange truck.

I been in aircraft manufacturing for about 40 years. We pressure test wings using air pressure @ about 6 psi. Once about 30 years ago someone left the test equipment unmonitored and after blocking a vent closed blew a 757 wing apart. They are held together with thousands of rivets and fasteners and it peeled the upper skin off with a thunderous explosion.Luckily no one was injured.Air pressure, even low air pressure can do some serious damage.

I’ve wanted one of these my whole life. Now that I’m disabled and can’t drive, I just have to watch this beauty come back to life.

That gas tank reminds me of the 'Father Ted' sketch, "It's just a scratch" taptaptappity-tap.

Finally, the wait is over.
The Ford Econoline Frankenstein truck is on the road with only a few items to finish it up.
I'd love to own it.
Darren did an awesome, in-depth, extremely low filler pro level job on the replacement metal parts.

If my early memories from sheet metal trade school hold true, we used what were known as soldering sticks, they were big chunks of solder like 3/4' x 3/4" x 10" and a small little table top mini forge for the iron, yes I'm that old. Anyway for those large soldered jobs it worked well. Back in the day this country saw fit to offer Federally funded trade schools for their youth. I feel so lucky to have been able to go to school when Industrial Arts were taught. This is why I love watching Mustie 1, he makes it work.
