I think at the end, Stabler might have had a small degree of empathy for the woman insofar as it was obvious that she was indeed a very sick and very confused person who was obviously complete gone from reality.. I think BOTH Stabler and Benson were very disturbed and perplexed by how someone could be that delusional and that far gone. How do you even interact with someone like that? I think Stabler handled it as well as he could under the circumstances because those are some very deep, dark and murky waters they were in.
