A step towards a cleaner Dnieper River

Ferrexpo’s mines and processing plant in Ukraine share their home with one of the great rivers of Europe – the Dnieper River. Like many of our planet’s waterways, the water condition is deteriorating, causing harmful algae to grow in the summer months which can destabilise the river’s ecosystem.
One of our employees and a keen fisherman, Sergiy Valkoviy, came up with a plan – one that Ferrexpo was proud to support: to stock up the river with algae-eating fish to help rebalance its ecosystem.
