Russia has said it will formally annex four more parts of Ukraine, just days after self-styled referendums took place.

The votes have been condemned by Ukraine and the West as a ‘sham’.

President Vladimir Putin will hold a signing ceremony to formalise the annexation.

Ukrainians in the city of Zaporizhzhia are fleeing Russia’s new so-called “border”.

In 2014, a discredited referendum was held for the annexation of Crimea.
