No matter how old I get, or how old this truck gets this is the best dodge ram ever, a truck every man wishes to have ❤

These trucks still hold the production truck top speed record. The Viper motor doesn't share a single part with the 8.0L Dodge V10 truck motor. These are essentially aluminum 360 Magnums with 2 more cylinders. Lamborghini helped with the block, and Yamaha helped with the heads. Viper motors are extremely simple and reliable pushrod designs that hit 200k+ miles. The bed cover and wing help high speed stability dramatically. This is one of, if not the only relevant sport truck with a manual transmission.

My all time favorite sport truck! The Dakota R/T 5.9L Magnum is cool too but the SRT10 is a dream truck for me.

Has anyone else seen the video of the kid in the red one doing a burnout and flips it? I still laugh at that. He jumps out and goes did I pop a tire? No no you didn’t you lost control and flipped it lol.

I used to work at an apartment complex in 2006-8 and this one guy I would smoke with on my lunch break had one of these. It was absurd how fast this thing was back then. They’re super tall too so it’s crazy cutting up in one

My dad and I have been working on getting one these running the past month. 6 speed manual, beautiful work of engineering. Makes me sick every time I see it. I want that truck in my life so bad. Also push to start which was ahead of its time in 04.

I miss my ‘05 all black 2dr. I don’t miss the way my back felt when I drove over anything taller than a penny. It was ruff riding
I also don’t miss the 8.9 mpg average

They had one of these at my work to get serviced and I got to drive it around for a bit. It had an aftermarket exaughst pipe running along the side skirt of the drivers side. It was the short bed model so it was manual and had to be the coolest truck I drove

Honestly, I wouldn’t say the best performance truck, because before the srt10 there was the lightning from Ford’s SVT division. But you also can’t overlook the GMC Syclone and the Typhoon. All really great truck of different eras which all hit a certain niche with each. The syclone and typhoon trucks were the iconic duo that pushed forward the idea of performance trucks with the aggressive body kits and suspension, not to mention turbo’d v6 a pair with AWD, the lightning from 1st to 2nd generation radiated that sleeper aura which started out as essentially a farm truck with tuned suspension and a big displacement motor (first gen was a 5.8) the second gen lightning lowered the engine to 5.4 triton but also slapped on eaton’s supercharger which would give the truck the edge to compete with other performing cars. And then the srt10 also known as the Viper truck. Which is the embodiment of dodge’s original design. Big motor, big power, fun performance. All great trucks and in their own respective classes
