“The Zanti Misfits" features large alien ant-like bugs the size of a rat. Right from the tension-filled teaser, I was glued to the television set.

Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. We had some great sci-fi shows in the 60’s!

I'm 58, and I accidentally bumped into this wonderful science-fiction series late one Friday night on BBC 1 (I'm British) when I was 16. The Zanti Misfits remains one of my all-time favourite episodes.

I was 10 when I watched this series and I had nightmares afterwards. Classic sci-fi that still works today. Some great actors and storylines and always a moral perspective at the end. I bought both series from Amazon and still totally watchable today.

The Zanti Misfits and It Crawled Out of the Woodwork are my favorite Outer Limits episodes. Gave me nightmares for months. In fact, I'm going to watch both again for the umpteenth time... never gets old.

You're never going to unsee that bug once you watch this episode. Throughout life, there are people whose eyes reminded me...

Never noticed the facial whiskers on the Zantis 'til you pointed it out. THIS is the episode I remember when I think of " The Outer Limits".
STILL creepy after all these years!

The Outer Limits was decades ahead of its time. It scared the hell out of damn near everyone who watched it. Including yours truly. A classic.

"Galaxy Being" was the one that cranked up my anxiety level. "Zanti" finished me off. All at the age of 11

I too grew up watching the Outer Limits and the Zanti Misfits has stuck with me. I remember my mom was wriggling and screaming more than any of us kids. It Crawled out of the Woodwork and the creepy one involving tumble weeds are among my favorites.

I was born in 1971 and I remember seeing this episode as a kid in reruns and it really freaked me out. To this day i still feel the episode is very frightening. Shows like The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone will always remain timeless in my opinion.

I was a little kid in the 60’s and my grandmother lived with us. She was a big horror fan and introduced me to the work of Alfred Hitchcock, The Outer Limits, Twilight Zone and a show called One Step Beyond. One Step Beyond could be really stupid sometimes, but it also could be terrifying and had this really scary theme song which still scares me to this day if I think about it. Thanks, Gram for the memories and thanks RerunZone for bringing back these early masterpieces!!!

Wow, I remember that episode so well! Anytime anyone would bring up the subject of the Outer Limits, this is the episode I always talk about first. And yes, it scared the heck out of me then 😂
As a side note…after that episode one of my friends and I would chase each other around trying to make that zanti noise 🤣

I was born in 1954 and was also 9 years old when this episode was aired. I had never seen the Outer Limits before this episode. To me, the creatures looked like horrifying copies of the Cootie toys that were popular then. I remember being terrified as Bruce Dern climbed up the rocks to the ship, and then the door popped open and the first Cootie came out. It scared me so much, and I have remembered that feeling for almost 60 years. It's great to hear your similar memories!
