**Nazareth: A Rock Legacy**
Nazareth, a legendary Scottish hard rock band formed in Dunfermline in 1968, has been a significant force in rock music for over five decades. The original lineup included vocalist Dan McCafferty, guitarist Manny Charlton, bassist Pete Agnew, and drummer Darrell Sweet. They were inspired by icons like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. The band's breakthrough came with their album "Razamanaz" in 1973, featuring hits like "Broken Down Angel" and "Bad Bad Boy." Their 1975 album "Hair of the Dog," particularly the tracks "Hair of the Dog" and a cover of "Love Hurts," gained international acclaim.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, despite a decline in popularity in the UK and US, Nazareth remained a force in Europe, particularly in Germany. Their lineup underwent various changes, with guitarist Zal Cleminson joining in 1979 and Billy Rankin replacing Charlton in 1991. Original drummer Darrell Sweet passed away in 1999 and was replaced by Pete Agnew's son, Lee. Vocalist Dan McCafferty retired in 2013 due to health issues, leaving Pete Agnew as the sole original member. Carl Sentance took over as lead vocalist in 2015. The current lineup includes Pete Agnew, Jimmy Murrison, Lee Agnew, and Carl Sentance
