I almost drowned when I was in one of these. It was overcrowded and I couldn’t get my head back above water because of all the floats. My cousin (19, chaperoning me) couldn’t find me and panicked. The life guards didn’t see me struggling because I was covered up by people in floats. Had I not managed to shove a smaller person in a float out of my way, I would have drowned. And they wouldn’t have found me until it had been too late.

Regardless of how well you swim, do NOT go in an overcrowded wave pool. Especially if there are floats in it. It’s an excellent way to drown.

I’ve been in one of those! Always choose the round floats if you can’t swim super well! They don’t flip as much!
