I John! I love your videos. I would like to have your advice. I just landed an offer at Amazon as L5. I was very excited to join, the team responsibilities are awesome, the manager and the team looks chill and friendly and the wlb looks good. But I have recently heard a lot of horror stories about culture at Amazon and I am starting to get affraid it wont be as good as I think. What do you think about Amazon’s culture? Do you think it’s likely to have an experience similar to those stories? Thanks in advance!

Hi John, I came across your youtube playlist on reddit and have been binge watching your videos ever since . This is some really good content.

I worked 6+ years as a generalist software engineer (straight out of college) in the QA department of a small company where I wore many hats mainly in automation, performance, build & release and lately devops . I quit my job few months ago due to burnout and wish to switch to devops as that's the work I liked the most . But I don't have experience with working in big teams as I was the sole person on my team for 3 years and with some hot devops tools (like kubernetes).

What do you think I should do to boost my chances of getting a job in big tech as a devops/ cloud adjacent engineer?

I have been working on
:Datastructures
:Multiple small and one live devops project on my github
:A blog to document my project and portfolio

Hello Sir,

I work as a QA Engineer at Siemens, I have a lot of automation workload, but I've found myself leaning towards software development way more than QA.
When should I move? Is spending more time as a QA decrease my chances of getting a software development job?
