Amanpour questions Chalamet about Woody Allen

Timothee Chalamet tells Christiane Amanpour that "when that film comes out -- if it comes out -- it's going to be really important to talk about. But that's not the time right now."

He gave all the money he earned from that movie to 3 charities that deal with sexual abuse and LGBT rights. He has just started in this business and is already faced with some hard decisions. Kudos to him for handling it so professionally unlike the other actor who also worked on this movie but nobody has said a word about it.

He cannot speak negatively on the Director while still under contract (This is the reason we don't hear about on set problems or behaviors on any movie set until after it's release). He's donating his full payment from this movie to Time's Up and other organizations but still is not able to speak on this presently. He's 22yrs old and wasn't prepared to articulate an answer to this form of questioning. He did express that. If you don't grow up as an advocate and become an actor for the love of acting, not as a platform to promote change, there is a learning curve. He is now realizing he's been given a platform and is now navigating his way through newly found fame. Ease up.

This interview truly demonstrates Timothee's ability to articulate a response exceptionally well. As a budding lawyer it's refreshing to see someone in my age group who is capable of producing quality responses like this.

Can we please back off people for having worked with Woody Allen?  Sexual assault is a crime.  Knowing someone who was once accused of sexual assault is NOT.  And you are putting this young man in a horrible position, asking him to speak for other people's wrongdoing.  Especially when this approach seems to be applied so selectively.  Kevin Spacey was apparently a horror on the House of Cards set.  He wasn't even trying to hide his misconduct.  But we're not throwing Robin Wright under the bus, are we?
