When it comes to wireless earbuds, there are a ton of options available. And today I have an overview of the TrueFree T2 Bluetooth earbuds to help you decide if these are right for you! At $29, these are truly budget earbuds and priced just right if you're looking to save some money. They feature dual microphones for clear calls, touch controls and up to 23 hours of usage.
In the video I'll give you a closer look. The charging case has a nice matte black finish with the TrueFree logo printed on the front. On the top is where you'll find the USB-C charging port. Overall I think this has a very clean minimalistic design. The package comes with the earbuds, charging case, additional ear tips and a charging cable. There's also a user manual but I'll walk you through the pairing process and reset procedure in case you run into problems.
When you first take the earbuds out of the case, be sure to remove the plastic covers on the battery terminals. Then place them back in the case to charge. The T2 already has a partial charge from the factory but to pair them to a device, they need to be placed back in the case first.
To connect to an iPhone or other device, open the lid and wait until the right earbud flashes blue and red. Then go into the Bluetooth settings and wait until TrueFree T2 shows up at the bottom of the device list. To pair just tap on the name and now can confirm it's connected.
The TrueFree T2 wireless earbuds have good sound for just under $30. I can hear vocals clearly and the crisp high frequencies add to an overall smooth sound. Some budget earbuds lack bass. But with the T2, there's enough bass to create a satisfying full range sound so I can listen longer. But you won't find booming bass with the T2 earbuds. In other words, if you're looking for deep and resonating bass then you'll need to test out something different. With that said, I know the T2 will appeal to some and not others.
The TrueFree T2 also has touch controls on the back of each earbud. These are audio transport controls and also used during calls. There's too many functions to list so check the manual for a full explanation of the different tap combinations.
If you ever have connection problems or when you can only get one earbud to work, a reset can help fix that. To reset the earbuds, start with the Bluetooth information settings for these earbuds on your device like my iPhone. Then tap on Forget this Device. At the bottom of the list tap Forget Device to confirm. Now place both earbuds back in the charging case. Here, press the center button on the case for about 10 seconds until you see the LEDs quickly flash red and white twice. But keep your eyes on the LEDs because it happens quick. These are now reset and I can start the Bluetooth connection process again.
Here's some final notes. You can use just one earbud at a time if you like. The T2 also features game mode which reduces delay so the sound and action on screen are in sync. And you'll be able to get up to 6.5 hours of usage on a single charge. I'll list the TrueFree T2 earbuds here in the description so it's easy for you to find.
