Categorical Propositions

In this brief video we overview Categorical Propositions which are the building blocks of Categorical Syllogisms and Term Logic. We cover the definition of terms, quality and quantity, and distribution. We learn about the Universal Affirmative, Universal Negative, Particular Affirmative, and Particular Negative propositions. We also give a brief introduction to Venn diagrams.

I am teaching a Logic course this year and learning as I go...is the copula in a proposition always going to be 'are'? Seems like it should be, but other teachers at my school say that 'is' is an acceptable copula for a categorical proposition. Are there any examples of a proper proposition using 'is'?
