Great thank for your informative, clarified, and practical presentation on 24-hour pH monitoring test. It makes interpretation of the pH test easier than ever.

Hi! Are there any PPIs that do not contain lactose and sorbitol ? I am lactose intolerant.

Can allergies which increase the production of histamine lead to access acid production and cause esophagus issues

Also, is the 24 ph impedance good for burping/ belching?

I came in for dysphonia and my vocal cords show no damage, tension, polyps, scarring, or acid damage. I don't think I need PPI, in fact I won't take them, and I now question the need for this test if my vocal folds are not impacted by acid. The only time I had actual reflux in recent days was because of medication given by the ENT that caused Gerd Like symptoms, and as soon as I stopped those medications, the reflux went away and I went back to normal. No heartburn, no swalling problems, no burping issues. So if I am not showing symtoms of reflux, but a barium swallow shows refulx with no esophagitis, then why would the ENT prescribe PPI and a pH test?
