When I watch this, I get the feeling of a abusive relationship, where one uses guilt tripping to then keep someone, but when the other tries to connect to other people the one who guilt trips tries to break the connection, and the wire connecting them is the abuse and threatening that goes on until they finally realize and break free from the abusive relationship or person. I understand this and it makes me realize how abusive relationships can turn into something worse until you break free. But the thing is, many struggle to do so because of the threats from the other and this animation puts that in clear view and the song fits so well with it as well. Amazing work.

This is so beautiful. The symbolism here is so astonishing, and I felt so personally connected to these characters and the song.
I once was the brown and gray-green dragon, and I got jealous whenever my friend made other friends because I was so fearful of losing that one friend. I then felt like I became Shannon’s character, as I was then trapped in a toxic relationship with that friend and couldn’t escape. I would go into more detail, but it’s too personal to share.
This PMV is so symbolic, it’s crazy. For anyone who’s trapped in a toxic relationship, please leave before it’s too late. It will be so so hard, but once you’re out of it, you’re free. You feel so relieved yet wounded, symbolized by Shannon’s character at the end of the video.

I discovered this video about a year ago, just after escaping an abusive relationship. At the time, I was looking for funny dragon videos to make me feel better... but this is what I needed to watch. It described everything that had happened to me. For a moment, the world faded. I was the yellow dragon. I watched everything the brown dragon did and realized how awful it was when I couldn't initially see all that evil in my own recent past. I felt validated to have cut that wire and run away. Like what I did was truly the right thing and I shouldn't regret it anymore. This was the closure I needed.

I come back to watch this every now and again to remind myself that though the scars aren't healed and the pain lingers, I am so much better than I was. Thank you for helping me

i never realized what this song portrayed before but now i feel a strong connection bc i think its symbolizing an abusive realationship where one person is restricting the other and and being defensive of others and guilt tripping the other, and the wire is that wall, the restricitons cast by the abusive partner, and the partner doesnt see it, idk its just struck a cord in me

I think a lot of us know what it’s like to have a person in our lives that stops us from flying away from the wire, and gets jealous when a new person comes along who threatens to help us take flight. An incredibly relatable and brilliantly executed PMV. I know I’m a tad late to this vid but you became one of my favourite artists so quickly. Your ability to convey emotion and your use of symbolism are amazing and your videos never disappoint. 🤎🤎

I love how shannite portrays the feeling of getting scarred physically and mentally by a pure evil person who just wants to see you suffer, and cutting the wire is like cutting the relationship but you cant leave without scars, love your vids Shannite, love yourself and take care♥️(to anyone who sees this)

This is awesome! In all the other Two Birds animations I've seen, the one doesn't want to leave bc of fear, and the other stays with them out if love. Never have I seen one with a one-sided relationship where the one stays to keep the other there.

I normally use this song showing tramautic events and one couldnt let go, but this version shows toxic relationship, where one wants to go or be happy with others somewhere else but the other manipulates the othe to not go, and that manipulation represents that string that makes those two stuck together, this is beautiful

This really made me look at the song in an entirely different view, I never thought to see it as an abusive relationship, that's really cool. I've always seen the song as sort of sad, about a friend that cant move on from something, and the other is staying not because they're tied to each other but because they want to be there for them through the tough times their friend is going through.

Not gonna lie, this had me tearing up a wee bit at the end. How I interpreted this was that these two were connected by a wire, which stands for a relationship. It starts off with them in love, and then progresses to when the first one wants to go do something, but their partner doesn't let them go. They try to form bonds with others but the abuser doesn't allow it. Finally, the first dragon tries to get away, and is slashed on the eye. Those last two shots, of them flying away with tears in their eye, and the abusive partner watching them go... damn. That's a definite tear jerker, cuz you can tell the first dragon still cares for the second one, but they know that they have to get out of that situation
