I’m a hobbiest. I’ve used this application twice. Both times I got back a 3D model near 85-90% of what I wanted. It’s not perfect, but it’s going to save me a lot of time and frustration in creating the models I want for a project. Again, this is my hobby. I don’t get paid to do it and my modeling skills can’t hold a candle to the things I’ve seen. This gets me off to a running start on what I want to do. I think it’s incredible!

3D Artists aren't going away. You can generate great starting models, but the RODIN ai creates models that aren't as nice as the drawings it gets which means that a human artist then needs to go in and add details and redo certain areas that got clapped together. Because AI isn't able to think or even respond to basic requests, it therefore can't do these details.

Hello. Can AI replace us in the near future? If algorithms for easy retopo and UV unwrapping are developed with AI, I don’t think this will hinder me. But if a prompter can produce a professional mesh in 3 seconds, does easy retopo and UV unwrapping have any meaning? No matter how much we optimize our art in terms of time, does our imagination have any significance compared to easily and effortlessly creating a 3D mesh with a prompter? In such a case, can I still be an artist?

Rodins amazing but the uvs seem all screwed up when u unwrap them in blender, is there a way to fix them or do we have to make new materials? just curious, am totally new to all this im just learning blender because of finding out about rodin

Problem is it creates such complicated mesh objects that you can't convert them to solid in Fusion. So you're stuck with whatever they give you or the lousy mesh editor. You can't actually modify using CAD after which sucks. So just like everything AI, it's limited, or limits you.

0:57 the tech looks good. but your observational skills. The model is not exact. AI calculated the ornamentation on that chair to look like a ball sack. Funny, but not accurate.

fact of the matter is until you have complete control over the creation process its just a toy. The most bat shit crazy ideas I have had have all been the result of sodding around with a bit of paper in front of me. An A.I cannot do anything new, only remix what is there and while you can do less with more, the A.I needs new data to keep producing stuff. A huge amount of stuff that goes on with A.I is actually in its current state illegal anyway as no one knows where they are getting their training data from. It has no agency I really don't think artists should be concerned as companies that want to replace everyone with A.I are probably not worth much, No one really likes those guys. No one.
