I bank with cap 1 and I’ve been extremely pleased with it. Have 2 savings accounts, one for personal savings and another for vacations. Super solid

My favorites are Ally, Marcus, and Synchrony. Their rates haven't been the highest but consistent. The main reason is that when the Fed lowered the rates to zero, neither one of these banks lowered the rates below .50%.

I use sofi savings as my primary account (even paying bills) and it's amazing. Not having an HYSA is just losing money lol

The greatest thing I did in 2024 was switch to sofi. I was only planning on opening a savings shortly after I got the CC and then opened an account for investing. It’s perfect

Just switched over to SoFi and it’s been perfect

At the end of the day, most banks will offer pretty similar benefits / rates according to the fed rate. Always been a fan of discover, had my first cc there and they’ve always been super nice, no problems over the years so i happily bank with them. Most ppl are busy comparing this rate to that one that’s 0.05% more, as long as it’s simple and you can sleep at night knowing your money is with them, that’s probably the best choice for you.

2:23 The only downside with SoFi is that you have to have either a DD or 5k a month coming in to keep that high APY. Where as Capital One has no catch to earn your high APY

Once rates drop low enough, I'm closing out on my Sofi account. I was in the middle of a home refi, and they wouldn't let me wire my money out to go to escrow. They told me, you can only wire money out for a NEW home purchase loan.

I have CIT Bank. It was 5.0% last year when I signed up but it decreased to 4.29% now. I'm considering the Lending Club now with 4.75% so thanks for the info!

Who else is tired of banks barely paying anything on savings? I’m switching to Sofi, especially with that 4% interest! 🚀

Went from Bank of America to Capital One checking and savings 4 years ago, I never looked back. I also use Vio Bank and Barclays as secondary savings account which I would consider "honorable mentions".

Added benefit with AmEx is that you get a boost if you have the platinum card so APY is currently at 4.05% vs typical 3.80%

You should do an updated video for us college students and what credit card we should use for renting, school items, traveling from college to and from home, etc

Barclays HYSA is 4.0%. Excellent customer service and easy transfers.

Awesome list Daniel! The capital one savings also has up to a $1500 bonus for new customers right now

One reason one might consider Ally Bank is that their Money Market accounts are the same percentage as the HYSA, so you don't have to suffer for a lower APY just because you want check writing & ATM privileges for the account (it's a question of whether you want to set up buckets or not though).

I like SOFI a lot however when I started with them their rate was 4.6 APY…..now it’s 3.8 APY.
