NEXBOX A95X Android TV Unboxing & Review

This is my review of the NEXBOX A95X that features the Amlogic S905 Cpu, 1gB of DDR3 Ram and 8GB of Flash Storage with Android Lollipop 5.1.1

I benchmarked the NEXBOX A95X with:
- Disk Speed Test, Antuntu, Geekbench 3, Network Speed Test, 3D Mark Score & Epic Citadel.

Tested the NEXBOX A95X with:
- Big Buch Buny, Tears of Steal and Sintel Movies with H264 and H265 Codecs at 1080p and 4K resolutions without any problems whatsoever.
- To test out 10 Bit playback capability i run 2 sample movies from Samsung, The Iceland and Dive Into The New World, both Ultra HD 10 bit video and the A95X played everything just perfect.

In terms of gaming this machines is not meant for it specially for 2 reasons:
1- It doesnt have Bluetooth so we cant connect Gamepads and also USB Gamepads are not recognized (Logitech F710)
2- 1GB of Ram is not enough for most of the games

Airplay was very smooth, used Air Pin Pro App iand i could mirror the Iphone SE and the Ipad Mini with Retina Display and stream content from it.
I also mirrored the Imac that delivers a higher bit rate files and played live slide shows from it and also a apple event and no issues once again.

Things I did Like The Most:
- Price Point
- Root From Favtory
- Smooth Video Playback on Kodi
- Very Small Form Factor
- Capable of Streaming & Mirroring Computers (OSX Airplay )

Things i Did Like The Least:
- No Bluetooth
- Not Capable of Playing Games

Yep, that is a better option. This model that i tested is very limited,
people still buy but if you have the chance to get something better just
go for it 👍
The U1 is in a different league, it has faster storage, support, a big community, custom roms etc so its more expensive but i dont think that will have a update to marshmallow

Just got one of these and it works great, but Just one bit of info to add if people need it. The reset button is located in the AV jack. if you stick a pin in there you'll hear the button click.

Por curiosidad... cuando estabas viendo el video en 4K, la resolucion del aparato llegaba a dar el OUTPUT de 4K o es que solamente podia darle play a videos 4K en una resolucion de 1080p?

No he podido encontrar videos donde muestren que en los display settings tenga 4K.

I enjoy all of your presentations. I just received a NETBOX A95X-B7n from China. Unfortunately, none of the screens looked anything like those in your presentation. Kodi was almost unheard of. With a great deal of effort, I did get parts of Kodi running. I believe there are many releases of A95X, and I must have received a very old one from China. Very disappointing, but will keep searching for an inexpensive TV Box.

Nice review. Bought this box, worked fine, but with my new UHD tv the box keeps rebooting when the resolution is set to 1080p in the box. Any idea how this can be solved?

Is there a way to add a usb or micro sd card to increase RAM? I know it has the capability but is it "plug and play" or is there a set of instructions to use extra memory as additional RAM?

I'm looking at installing a device into our motel rooms as a means for guests to stream online without purchasing all new smart televisions (not too keen on spending hundreds PER ROOM). I am looking at keeping basic software on the system for guests to play their media from their portable drives, and allow them to stream Netflix etc. I also hope to lock guests out of crucial settings (I'm not the most tech-savvy, but positive I'll figure it out). Do you think the a95x would be suitable?

thanks for the review, I bought this box right now but has some trouble with .mkv files sound. There is no sound when I play this files. And the other problem the Media Center. When I try to play the files from my computer installed the serviio there is no sound while playing the films. Do you have any idea please? Thanks in advance.

I tried to find the HDMI Passthrought settings but unfortunately can't find this option.
