For some unknown reason .. I fell in love with phrygian .. It always seemed to me a complex structure to form . it had 1-2-5 and 1-4-5 and when I wanted my fingers to fall off in practice 1-2-4-5 !!! in any alternating sequence .. Then I found the useless diminished and it fit within the same .. Years ago I dismissed the Major scales as being easier, but yet practiced them . Looking back .. I actually learned in reverse .. Phrygian dominant, Diminished then major and natural minors .. and it wasn't until 10 years ago .. Pentatonics !! .. Totally awkward learning process .. My Mel Bay chord book in the early 80's .. was learn the weird shaped 13ths and flat 5ths blah blah blahs .. !! and any odd shaped useless chords and bypass the happy stuff like a C major .. My attitude was take it to the hardest first and be completely discouraged . . Then one day my nimbleness would come and I could easily walk into the easier progressions with their subtle alterations. .. I can;t say it was good method or bad without a teacher .. But I love when I can click on now any style backing track and instantly play along .. It's hysterically fun .. My reasoning many years ago was .. If you only study the "A" book of the encyclopeadia .. you'll eventually know everything about aardvarks and avascular necrosis .. but then nothing of the "B" book .. My dear friend that passed stayed in one mode . He opened for Molly Hatchet years ago but all he concentrated on was Pentatonics and never ventured outside of the box .. I spent more years stumbling trying to learn it all and never being comfortable .. until ....

Awesome nice and phat I like how it starts out heavy but then it brings back down @2:58 and does that little turn around @3:28 and boom back into that heavy E power chord luv it!!👍

I am gonna shred on this one. It's so groovy. Not like other tracks, which have the same boring chord progression. Allows me to different directions and patterns.

Hell yeah, phrygian with some harmonic minor flare and a little special sauce to top it off. Love everything about this scale and track. Keep it up man.
